Heats fast, makes prefect small curls or straighten hair. My favorite part is the titanium plates which I've preferred for a long time now, leaves hair unbelievable soft and sleek. The super-fast heating of titanium plates makes it ideal for those with thick, coarse strands as their hair can be straightened faster and more easily. Titanium plates release more negative ions than any other material which makes the hair shinier and healthier looking as it closes the hair cuticle and eliminates frizz. Another awesome feature that I haven't seen in another flat iron is the floating plates, this makes it so much easier to work with tool and get desired perfect curls. 5 heating settings for all hair types. I particularly use 400 for my thick coarse hair and is wonderful. Recommended!!!

Unbelievably quick to heat up

This pencil iron really does heat up in about 15 seconds. No waiting around for this baby! I had been using a very short, travel size 3/4" flatiron and find this full length one a bit easier to work with. I have very short, very straight hair and this works perfect for me. I use a medium heat and the curl lasts all day. This unit is dual voltage and light weight, but between the long cord and the full length, it is pretty bulky for travel.The on/off and temperature selector are inside which took some getting used to but at least you don't accidentally hit them when styling. It's supposed to have a 60 minute auto shut off but I always just unplug mine between uses. The cord is quite long and swivels at the handle but its more like a wire than a normal cord. It will keep the kinks and bends from being folded, or coiled until you actually bend it back flat. I'd have rather had a more "supple" cord and worry that the bending and unbending will eventually cause failure. That would be my only "con" for this item.

This is a really great tool for straightening the roots of your hair and for using on wigs (test the low heat setting on an inconspicuous section first). It’s definitely mini and would take a long time straightening long or thick hair. For that reason, I don’t think it could replace a regular straightener, even for travel. It heats up quickly and has an indicator to tell you when it’s ready. I tried to use it to loosely curl the front section of a wig and it wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be. I’ll have to look up some techniques and practice. Otherwise it’s pretty good and gets plenty hot. Just be careful, since it does get closer to your head than you might be used to.

I do a lot of short haircuts at the salon and this iron is perfect for those styles. Smooth, heats fast, and has a long cord.
